Brendan co-owned and managed hair and beauty salons. Being a small business owner gave him a strong understanding of the difficulties small company owners faced daily. Working with many other owners in the hospitality industry gave him an even greater depth of knowledge.

Having worked for some time within the hospitality industry, Brendan joined Heineken Ireland in 1991. During his 21 years at Heineken, he steadily climbed senior positions. When Brendan left, he was a member of the Senior Sales team.

As part of his leadership training in Heineken, Brendan undertook several People Management, Coaching, and Training courses. Seeking a deeper understanding of marketing, Brendan successfully took a Marketing Certification course. At this stage in his career, he recognised his deeper interest in truly understanding people and their motivations and achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2007. He continued his studies and obtained a Master’s Degree in Psychotherapy.

With the combination of his psychology education, marketing, sales, and hospitality trade experience, Brandan started Drakemount Consulting. In 2011 Brendan left Heineken to start his own business, which has been successfully thriving ever since.
